Xm Radio Bring Back Dave The Rave

This blog is intended to be a forum for anyone that ever listened to Dave the Rave on XM radio when he had a 1 hour show on Saturday nights and Saturday Mornings. XM abruptly cancelled his show in May of 2004 for reasons that Dave's fans still do not fully understand. Dave played some of the best "forgotten" and underplayed music to ever come out of the late 50's and 60's.
As a contributor to this blog, I encourage anyone who is a Dave fan to post your thoughts here and let's see if we can get enough XM subscribers together to approach the powers that be at XM Radio to bring Dave back to the Saturday time slot.
If you have any questions about Xm or Dave the Rave, I'll do my best to respond to them.
Even though I am in touch with Dave from time to time, he has nothing personally to do with this blog, nor did he authorize it. I'm just doing it as a fan of Dave and someone who loves music that we ordinarily would have never heard, had it not been for him.
Let's get together and see what kind of impact we can make on XM to
BRING BACK DAVE THE RAVE!!!!

Comments:
Dave the Rave's show on XM was the best thing on XM... Since Dave was unceremoniously dropped, I dropped XM radio and went to Sirius where Little Steven's Garage channel is the closest you'll find anywhere that sounds like Dave's show.

Dont get me wrong, if XM picked up Dave's show again, I would re-subscribe to XM again...

Maybe a good idea would be to start petitioning Sirius to pick up Dave's show.. Maybe they would realize what an all-around asset Dave could be to their company...
There are a bunch of streams on Sirius that Dave could join... The 60's channel (6), Soul Revue The Motown channel -- 53), and of course Little Steven's Garage Channel (25)

If you can, post your thoughts on how best we could start that rolling...

I, too, was a fan of Dave the Rave on XM and was sorry to see his show go. I've only recently started listening to his Top Shelf Oldies show. If he ends up back on XM, or if he goes to Sirius, I'd be happy either way, although I think he'd be a better fit with XM.

XM radio knew exactly what kind of show Dave did before agreeing to put him on the air, but it seems now that they have PROFITS on their minds rather then what the paying customer wants to hear! Anyone can play the same big hits over and over...it takes no originality to do this --but Daves Relics and Rarities was not 'main stream' thus he got the ax for trival matters. Might i add, that what he was blamed for ---other shows are still allowed to broadcast, Ex Dr. Demento.
XM needs to get it's head out of the sand and start listening to what the PEOPLE WANT. Without "paying" (customers /listeners) they sure won't last long-maybe they need to listen to the song "Keep The Customer Satisfied"?.

Bring back Dave the Rave in his original format!!!! It's what WE loved and tuned in to hear --not the same tunes you can hear for FREE on any other radio station in the country hundreds of times a day. Wake Up XM, and all the executives who make the decisions. Stop looking at the $ (dollar signs) and start responding to what people want to hear. -A long time DTR fan.
